As the Province previously announced, Ontario’s Stay-at-Home order will expire tomorrow (June 2, 2021). However, when it does, all other public health and workplace measures will remain in place provincewide until Ontario enters Step One of the Roadmap to Reopen, at which point some restrictions will ease with an initial focus on outdoor settings.
The Province announced that based on current health trends, including the vaccination rate in Ontario, it expects to enter Step One of its roadmap (Click here to view key highlights of the COVID-19 Roadmap to Reopen) around June 14, 2021. The Province will wait 21 days before moving on to the next step.
- Step One — 60% adults with one dose vaccine: Outdoors first with limited, well-managed crowding and permitting restricted retail
- Step Two — 70% adults with one dose vaccine, 20% fully-vaccinated: Open indoors with small numbers and face coverings and expand outdoors
- Step Three — 70-80% adults with one dose vaccine, 25% fully-vaccinated: Expanded indoors where face coverings can’t always be worn
Some restrictions, such as the ones on recreational camping and provincial border closures are being extended past June 2 — see this CTV News article for more.
We know things can be a little confusing as to what’s opening up when, gathering restrictions, etc., so below we’ve compiled a breakdown of information to hopefully make things a little clearer.
If you have specific questions regarding how the changes provincial regulations may affect your personal circumstances, please reach out to your local Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) — Jane McKenna, Burlington MPP / Effie Triantafilopoulos, Oakville-North Burlington MPP / Parm Gill, Milton MPP — and Halton Public Health at 311, as they will be in the best position to answer those questions.
