I am honoured to serve as OBCM’s chair as Mayor Crombie temporarily steps down. Thank you Mayor Crombie for leading our caucus and I look forward to continuing to represent our 29 member municipalities, representing 70% of Ontario’s population.

Today, Mayor Crombie announced that she has formed an exploratory committee to look into a leadership bid for the Ontario Liberal Party.
Mayor Crombie is also the current Chair of OBCM, a non-partisan organization comprised of mayors of Ontario cities with populations of 100,000 or more. OBCM provides a voice for big city mayors in policy debates that impact Ontario cities. Through policy development, advocacy, discussion and partnerships, OBCM supports strong and effective cities.
In accordance with our bylaws, Mayor Crombie will be temporarily stepping down as Chair of OBCM until her official decision is made. Vice-Chair, Marianne Meed Ward, Mayor of Burlington will therefore step in as Acting-Chair at this time.
