Burlington Downtown launches vinyl window campaign to help market available storefronts

BDBA press release – The Burlington Downtown Business Association (BDBA) is increasing interest in the downtown’s limited vacant space through the launch of a new vinyl window campaign in partnership with several commercial property owners downtown.

Working with a recognizable brand and adding catchy headlines, the Association’s vinyl window campaign was recently launched in three vacant commercial spaces. “Burlington Downtown is in a very advantageous position,” states Brian Dean, Executive Director, BDBA. “We boast an enviable business location and access to growing markets with better than Canadian average household income. BDBA wishes to keep this momentum moving forward by strengthening our leasing messaging – creating the right business mix for our future.”

A dynamic leasing campaign displayed in vacant windows within the BDBA boundaries aims to attract preferred businesses and enhance the visual status of our vacant commercial properties.

“‘We love our ‘Small Space – Huge Opportunity’ headline perfectly describes the benefit of our space,” remarked Majlinda Dini, Property Manager at Village Square. “Our target is the entrepreneur and this message speaks to them.”

Another application can be found on the retail space that is part of Pine and Pearl Retirement Residences. “When this facility was built, careful consideration was put into a retail component that would serve our residents as well as our downtown community,” remarked Shawna Legere, Executive Director at Pine and Pearl. “The vinyl window signage helps to increase exposure to our space while demonstrating we are a vibrant member of the downtown. I just love it!”

To date, there are three installations,409 Brant St. (former Elizabeth Interiors,) Village Square, behind Village Cigar Company & Barbershop and 390 Pearl Street. (Pine and Pearl).

“We are looking to expand the vinyl campaign to commercial and office within our downtown boundaries”, states David Hayward, Chair, Board of Directors. “Our campaign will work to remind landowners and potential tenants of one more reason to locate within Downtown Burlington.”

The Burlington Downtown Business Association is a not-for-profit organization representing over 435 commercial property owners and businesses within the Business Improvement Area.

Burlington Downtown enjoys a commercial vacancy rate of less that 5.5%.

Retailers vacating stores and leaving remnants of “Final Days” or “Closing Sale” signs on their windows for months and months is both disrespectful & discouraging for all remaining/ prospective retailers and customers/ residents alike. This BDBA vinyl window campaign is most welcomed and should be expanded!
